Plan International is seeking an Education in Emergencies Specialist to lead and support safe, inclusive, and quality education programmes in crisis settings. The organisation advances children’s rights and equality for girls, and this role aims to address the needs of marginalised children. Overview
The Education in Emergencies Specialist will be responsible for leading and supporting emergency response and programme delivery, ensuring education interventions address the needs of girls, marginalised children, and survivors of violence. The specialist will also integrate education with other sectors, including child protection, gender, cash assistance, and nutrition.
The role involves programme design and technical leadership, including conducting rapid needs assessments, designing gender-responsive and inclusive EiE strategies, and ensuring alignment with national systems and long-term development goals. The specialist will also represent Plan International in Education Clusters and coordination forums, and collaborate with NGOs, UN agencies, governments, and local partners.
Additionally, the specialist will support resource mobilisation by developing high-quality funding proposals, building and maintaining relationships with donors and partners, and contributing to growing a strong EiE funding portfolio.
