Alinea International, an international development consultancy, is seeking a Learning and Knowledge Management Expert to work on the Lake Chad Basin Conservation Project. The project aims to improve the climate resilience of ecosystems and marginalized communities in the region. The consultant will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating the knowledge management and sharing process, with at least 5 years of relevant experience required.

Overview

The Lake Chad Basin Conservation Project is a climate change initiative that focuses on nature-based solutions in six Ramsar sites located in Cameroon, Chad, and Niger.

  • The project aims to improve the climate resilience of ecosystems and marginalized communities, particularly women and youth.
  • The project is in its final year and is seeking a consultant to identify and share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned.
  • The consultant will work with the project management team to develop a knowledge management and sharing strategy.
  • The consultant will also develop tools, collect and analyze information and data, and organize workshops with national and regional stakeholders.

Role & Responsibilities

The Learning and Knowledge Management Expert will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating the knowledge management and sharing process throughout the assignment.

  • Develop a work plan based on available information on the project.
  • Develop a knowledge management and sharing strategy in the context of the project closure.
  • Develop tools, collect and analyze information and data, and organize workshops with national and regional stakeholders.
  • Prepare a final report.

Requirements

  • hold a university degree in a relevant field, such as Monitoring and Evaluation, Sustainable Development and Environment, Information Systems, Sociology, Statistics, Project Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Have at least 5 years of professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated previous experience in knowledge management, organizational learning, and identification of lessons learned.
  • Experience in coordinating multi-stakeholder and multi-thematic initiatives.
  • Good knowledge of the project countries of intervention and the project’s thematic focus.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation systems, as well as development programs and projects related to ecosystem and environmental management.
  • Experience in knowledge capitalization and the development of evaluation tools.
  • Knowledge of local languages in the project area required; good command of French required; command of English an asset.
