The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) invites applications for a three-day capacity-building workshop on reporting critically on Africa-China relations. The workshop, scheduled for the last quarter of 2026 in Accra, Ghana, will equip journalists with knowledge and techniques to cover stories pertaining to Africa-China relations. 30 journalists will be selected for the workshop.

Eligibility

Applications are invited from journalists based in Anglophone West African countries, working in print, radio, television, or digital media, and reporting on areas related to Africa-China relations.

  • Based in an Anglophone West African country (Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia, or the Gambia)
  • Work in print, radio, television, or digital media
  • Report on areas such as politics, economy, business, trade, development, environment, extractives, infrastructure, or international affairs
  • Available in the last quarter of 2026 and can secure a formal permission letter from their editor
